What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dining Room Manager position at Hau Tree?
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Dining Room Manager oversees Hau Tree’s front of house operations, ensuring highest quality of service levels and F&B product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Monitor Hau Tree’s Front of the House restaurant operations, delivering superior service and maximize customer satisfaction
· Respond efficiently and accurately to customer special requests and complaints
· Table touches, food allergy awareness, special requests
· Facilitate pre-shift meetings, communicating pertinent information to the staff
· Prepare closing reports and statements
· Foster a strong and positive team oriented environment
· Praise team’s performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
· Train and re-train associates on proper customer service practices
· Assist with implementing new policies and protocols
· Assigning daily setup/breakdown of the restaurant
· Attend Hau Tree leadership and BEO weekly meetings
· Oversee restaurant inventory and order supplies when necessary
· Ensure compliance with local liquor laws, health & safety regulations (OSHA, food handling)
· Attend Kaimana Beach Hotel management training and facilitate emergency procedures and SOPs with rest of Hau Tree’s team
· Communicate with other department managers if challenges arise
· Assist with Hau Tree’s personnel performance reviews, peer recognition, and disciplinary actions
· Monitor teams’ dress code according to style guide
· Assist with on-the job training to ensure new associates are in accordance with company’s fun and friendly culture and hospitality
· Maintain a professional relationship with other managers and subordinates
· Enforces safety and sanitary practices and maintenance for front-of-the-house
· Support special requests of other departments and their needs
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
· Minimum requirement of 3 years in Food & Beverage industry and at least 1 year of supervisory or manager experience
· Passion for excellence and great enthusiasm in providing exceptional service standard
· Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
· Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by guests and employees
· Must be able to multitask, detailed orientated, and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
· Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
· Strong computer literacy
