Transportation Aides are para-professional employees trained to provide personal care and health-related services. Transportation Aides help care for people who are sick, injured, convalescent or disabled
Transportation Aides are trained to provide transportation and auxiliary services, such as transport to appointments and/or activities, personal care and assistance with daily living tasks. Common responsibilities of Transportation Aides include
§ Maintain a comfortable, orderly, safe and clean environment for patients
§ Knowledgeable of the individualized care plan for patients
§ Establishes and maintains communication with patients and coworkers to improve quality of service and patient satisfaction
§ Transports patients inside and outside the facility to designated areas in a punctual and timely manner
§ Lifts patients in and out of bed and chairs to move them to and from appointments/activities
§ Offers comfort and support to patients and their families
§ Respects and protects patient confidence and facility confidentiality by keeping all sensitive and patient information private
§ Follows all protocols and procedures to ensure safe delivery of patients and their possessions
§ Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner in the appropriate computer system, format and on the appropriate forms
