Title of Position:JOB COACH Special Ed– Gateway Program
FULL TIME POSITION
Work Year: Ten (10) Months
Salary:$31,000 to $37,000
Effective Date
of Employment:2023-2024 School Year
Organizational Relationship
or Line of Authority:Building Principal
Statement of Duties:
Responsible for addressing student behavior and encouraging effort in the classroom.
Work as a member of a team with other staff members.
Responsible for other general duties as indicated by the teacher, principal, supervisors/directors, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
Assist in collecting data for behavioral or academic progress.
Initiate and follow through with behavioral interventions as designated and demonstrated by the classroom teacher.
Assist individual students as necessary to follow routines, follow directions, follow an individual schedule, and/or complete tasks.
Monitor students at all times including on/off the school bus/van/city bus, lunch, when on community outings or at a work/job site and during times of transition.
Create materials as time allows and directed by teacher.
Help students to identify their work, leisure, and educational interests
Identify and cultivate natural supports within educational and employment, and other community environments.
Responsible for other general duties as indicated by the teacher, principal, supervisors/directors, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
Qualifications:
Bilingual preferred (Spanish)
Associate Degree or 60 Credits, preferred.
Prefer prior experience with transition aged youth in a school or similar setting.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
