Technical Support Specialist

Job Title: Technical Support Specialist

Department: Engineering

Accountability: This position reports to the Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Maintain a basic knowledge of all Havis products
• Works hands on with engineers and installers to demonstrate efficient ways of installation
• Write instructions for installation focusing on accuracy and ease of use
• Travel to work sites of major customers to demonstrate installation techniques
• Troubleshoot installation problems by phone or in person, as needed
• Provide training when requested, to Havis employees and Havis customers
• Assists with special projects as needed
• Work with Marketing to review website information and collateral
• Take photographs and document them ensuring proper file naming and folder management
• Maintain Vehicle Application Guide

Requirements:

• 
  High School Diploma or GED
• Must be able to understand complex written and verbal directions and convey them to employees
• Must be able to read and analyze documents, technical procedures and government regulations
• Must be able to convey information clearly in verbal and written formats
• Must be able to present information to groups of customers
• Must be able to solve complex problems with many variables
• Possess effective problem solving skills
• Must have basic knowledge of computers and operating systems
• Ability to review engineering drawings and work with CAD tool (SolidWorks) is a plus
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to effectively find information using ERP database tools
• Must have manual dexterity, experience in auto install applications and be proficient in the use of hand tools
• Possess a strong attention to detail, accountability, and self-motivation
• Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
• Ability to maintain established policies and procedures and follow instructions
• Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
• Ability to maintain effective performance with changing priorities
• Visual requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus
• Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing and bending

Work Environment – Office Area

• Engineering Office (Majority of time)
• Production/Shop Floor (Minority of time – Production support, prototype builds and root cause analysis)
• Chemicals, (See SDS)
• Dust
• Paint
• Noise
• Protective Clothing and Equipment May be Required
