  • The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible with assisting the Operations Manager with directing the work of personnel in the wholesale side of our business.  In addition, will assist in the creation, implementation and maintenance of the company operations procedures, reporting on performance, recommending changes and initiating improvements for the overall operations.  


  • Responsible for fuel and lube delivery efficiency and effective allocation of resources.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the fleet.
  • Responsible for overseeing the maintenance of driver and vehicles records per Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. 
  • Responsible for organizing and structuring department for full utilization of equipment and users. 
  • Responsible for overseeing that the upkeep and maintenance of all Company operated facilities.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining all compliance documentation regarding used oil permit, security plans, spill preventions control counter measures (SPCC) and safety programs.
  • Responsible for coordinating and delivering safety training for Company employees.
  • Perform project management tasks on station builds and remodels (fuel portion only).
  • Oversees up to twenty-five (25) direct reports by directing work, conducting goal setting and performance reviews, and ensuring direct reports are properly trained. 
  • Understands and communicates pricing fundamentals.
  • Follows safety guidelines and standards set by the Company.
  • Travel (within the Big Island) required 50 % of the time.
  • Compliance with all Federal State, Local and Company safety, health and environmental regulations.
  • Attends company training sessions. 
  • Regular attendance.  Qualified absences related to the State and Federal Family Medical Leave Act must be reported to Human Resources.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.


  • Mileage reimbursement provided for business use of personal vehicle.


Education and Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree and approximately two to five years of previous operations management experience in forecasting and completing process and facilities improvements, fleet management, safety compliance and experience in supervising and developing staff.
  • Operations management experience in the petroleum industry preferred.  
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Experience:    

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must possess a valid Type 3 Driver’s License.
