Position Overview: As Receptionist you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, playing a critical role in creating a welcoming and efficient environment. This position involves managing patient interactions, coordinating appointments, handling administrative tasks, and supporting the smooth operation of our eye practice. This role requires outstanding communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Reception: Greet patients warmly upon arrival, check them in, and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and promptly.
- Appointment Scheduling: Schedule and confirm patient appointments, manage appointment calendars, and handle rescheduling or cancellations as needed.
- Telephone and Email Communication: Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and address patient inquiries or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Patient Records Management: Maintain and update patient records, including personal information, insurance details, and medical history. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage, submit authorization requests, and handle any insurance-related issues or inquiries.
- Billing and Payments: Process payments, manage billing inquiries, and provide patients with clear information about charges, co-pays, and financial policies.
- Administrative Support: Assist with various administrative tasks and support other staff members as needed to ensure efficient practice operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or training in office administration or healthcare management is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience as a front desk administrator, receptionist, or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency with office software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems; ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
