Position Summary

The Manager, Payments & Distribution Strategy position will oversee all aspects of Hawaiian’s payments strategy, NDC payments operations, channel distribution strategy and commercial cost of sale analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the Sales and Distribution Analytics team, update, approve and present the monthly forecast and budget models for Distribution
  • Identify and scope commercial initiatives that have the potential to significantly change Hawaiian’s channel performance
  • Lead the yearly channel forecasting modelling through gathering assumptions from other commercial teams and working with the Sales and Distribution Analytics team for support
  • Lead Hawaiian’s Payment Strategy consulting with other teams at Hawaiian such as commercial, finance and IT to ensure Hawaiian has the right combination of forms of payment, currencies, vendors and commercial terms to acquire customers globally
  • Manage the strategic relationships with domestic and international credit card schemes and other payment partners
  • Be on the forefront of payment innovation by keeping up with payment trends, new technology and card scheme regulation changes
  • In conjunction with the Sales and Distribution Analytics team create dashboards and reports to summarize and communicate operational payment metrics
  • Manage Hawaiian’s HA Connect NDC payments operations including fraud, credit card authorization, settlement and understand the payment aspects of the NDC API
  • Represent Hawaiian globally on IATA’s Order Payment Group
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to frame and solve key strategic and tactical business issues related to payments and distribution
  • Work with our finance partners to produce the monthly cost of sale analysis
  • Develop cost of sale optimization recommendations based on analysis findings, and create reports and presentations for senior leadership
  • Build internal partnerships and work across the organization (web, IT, sales, finance and revenue accounting) to identify, implement and manage revenue and cost optimization opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned or directed

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related area
  • 5 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in finance/analytical role, with a strong emphasis in payments or airline distribution
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and the ability to make decisions and recommendations based on data and analysis
  • Self-directing; able to meet deadlines in an environment of constantly changing priorities and data
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to interact professionally with a diverse group – executives, managers, and subject matter experts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent.
  • Expert level knowledge in Excel, including the ability to develop complex multivariable models that may require programming in visual basic for applications
  • Experience with Tableau
  • Airline Distribution or Payments related experience
