Position Summary

This position falls within the Information Technology Airport Operations, Above The Wing Team that supports guest service agents, gate agents, and concierge agents that use technology for guest services, guest check-in, baggage check-in, concierge services, flight crew check-in, and transfer coordination. This position is expected to support areas such as but not limited to Kiosk, Work Force Management, Customer Management, Airport Companion, Log on Security Server, Loung Access Management Systems, and other Airport Operations Projects.

Analysts provide analysis and reporting services in support of LOB, pillar and Enterprise. This group also updates, maintains, and analyzes data from various enterprise tools. Analyst partner with stakeholders to understand analysis and reporting needs to create deliverables that enable the organization to meet its goals. The detailed work includes analyzing data, numbers and creating deliverables to enable summarizing, proposing or updating the stakeholders. The individuals in this family are excellent listeners, communicators (oral and written), and are able to distill the key topics/components/issues from discussions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate technical and architectural complexities of a technical solution so that project stakeholders can easily understand
  • Support the delivery of exceptional customer service that builds trust through responsive, accurate, consistent, knowledgeable and available services and support
  • Support the organization’s project management policy, practice and methodology
  • Provide timely and accurate progress information to project status reports
  • Interpret data, analyze results using stat techniques, and provide ongoing reports
  • Develop and implement data collection systems & other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
  • Acquire data from primary/secondary data sources and maintain databases
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Filter, “clean” data, & review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate & correct problems
  • Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
  • Authority to recommend changes to processes and procedures
  • Work with project stakeholders to validate their requirements and analysis models via techniques such as reviews and walkthroughs
  • Ensure system specifications meet the business unit expectations/requirements, and negotiate solutions
  • Understands and can explain to others the core processes involved in their area of support
  • Maintains existing requirements to ensure that current-state needs are known
  • Understands the source and use of key data and prepares analysis reports to enable design decisions
  • Ensure the requirements map to a real business need, are approved by all relevant stakeholders, and meet essential quality standards
  • Ensure that technology solutions adhere to quality standards
  • Participate in reviews or inspections in collaboration with the project team to ensure the quality of work products
  • Develop cost/benefit analysis for business solutions
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (in lieu of degree – 4 years of experience in IT or business environment)
  • 2 years of work experience in Information Technology or business environment (Or 1 year of working in Hawaiian Airlines IT)
  • Proven history of completing tasks with minimal direction
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understands financial management process for accurate time reporting and uses corporate assets in a responsible manner
  • Demonstrates applied knowledge of one or more analysis and problem decomposition techniques
  • Experience interacting with business reps and other partners/vendors to ensure that requirements are accepted and well-known
  • Understands complete SDLC and can apply the applicable portions of the ‘Feasibility,’ ‘Requirements,” and ‘Analysis’ phases
  • Proficient writing and documentation skills
  • Possesses advanced analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT - regulation, 49 CFR part 40) and all applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, PCP (Phencyclidine), and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position. Failure to submit to testing or positive indications of drug use will render the applicant ineligible for employment with Hawaiian Airlines and any employment offer will be withdrawn.
  • In addition to routine employment eligibility verification, U.S.-based airlines must gather information to validate country of citizenship and country of birth. Upon hire, you must provide documentation proving your current country of citizenship and birthplace.

Please note that the provided salary information serves as a general guideline. Our salary is determined by a candidate's experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations. The expected pay range is $75,800 - $93,000.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient SQL knowledge
  • Strong technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Airline industry experience
  • Proficient with computer technologies such as Jira, Confluence, MS Office Suite, MS Teams, ServiceNow, etc.
  • Familiar with airline industry applications such as Amadeus or Sabre
