What the Job Involves
As an Associate Attorney, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the legal landscape and report to the Corporate Counsel. As a key team member, you'll be entrusted with the exciting responsibilities of crafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, while also delving into the intricate world of existing laws, both domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Corporate Counsel on diverse legal projects, contributing to the overall success of the legal team.
- Review, edit, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, ensuring alignment with the company's legal standards and objectives.
- Identify and assess potential risk factors associated with contracts, providing strategic insights to mitigate legal risks.
- Draft and review Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), confidentiality agreements, and address other legal issues crucial to the company's interests.
- Utilize contract management software tools to track and manage all legal documents, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance.
- Oversee day-to-day legal operations, fostering efficiency and effectiveness within the legal function.
- Take an active role in legal tasks related to intellectual property, data privacy, and compliance, contributing to the overall legal strategy of the organization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to contribute to the legal team's success.
Qualifications
- JD degree with strong academic credentials and membership in at least one state bar.
- Proven track record of 2-5 years in legal practice, either within a law firm or an in-house legal department, specializing in commercial contracts.
- The ideal candidate will exhibit expertise in at least one of the following areas: Contracts, Data Privacy, or Intellectual Property.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating clarity and effectiveness in communication across all organizational levels.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and organizational skills, ensuring precision and attention to detail in legal documents and processes.
- Proficiency in utilizing legal research tools and platforms to support informed decision-making.
- Strategic thinking and adaptability, enabling the ability to be flexible in navigating complex legal matters.
