General Summary: Program CMM using PCDMIS CAD software package. Perform various quality analyses on parts and materials with various quality instruments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Program HB performance CMMs used to assess product quality
    • Use the 3D CAD models in the CMM operation.
    • Assist with the operation, programming, troubleshooting and limited management of the CMM.
    • Measure gauging and fixturing to check for conformance to required tolerances.
  • Perform initial sample inspections and prepare reports that require CMM programming as part of the measurement request completion.
  • Inspect parts for compliance to blueprints and specifications.
  • Review dimensional reports from suppliers
  • Determine acceptability of parts and/or assemblies using layout procedures and established evaluation methods.
  • Verify and maintain the quality of work produced through visual inspection, testing, and inspection work instructions.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area complying with procedures.
  • Promote Safety to all Supplier team members, Customers and HB team members.
  • Maintain inventory of CMM laboratory supplies
  • Make recommendations for improvements to Standard Work to improve safety, quality or productivity.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in developing Design Reviews as required.
  • Follow all established ISO/Quality procedures and participates in continuous improvement
  • Performs related duties as assigned or as situation dictates. Complies with all company policies and instructions
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Extensive experience programming CMMs using PCDMIS CAD working with 3D models. Use of quality inspection tools, electronic, optical, mechanical measuring equipment, and advanced precision measuring. Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), Microsoft Office Suite, ISO systems including auditing. Math skills and use of trigonometric calculations and true position calculations and ability to interpret and explain blue prints and engineering standards. Ability to communicate factually and logically regarding engineering specs and standards to internal and external customers.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Previous experience with ISO/QS/TS Quality Systems and APQP / PPAP.
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to compile data, analyze and establish facts and prepare recommendations
  • Quality orientation and attention to detail
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, blueprints and drawings, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write reports and effectively present information and respond to questions from management, and other employees of the organization.
Education and Experience: Requires education generally equivalent to an Associate's degree from a two-year college or university level training in business or technical subjects, one to three years of experience in an assembly/manufacturing environment. Experience working in a unionize environment.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: PCDMIS Certification preferred.
