Hazen and Sawyer’s Philadelphia Office is seeking an Assistant Engineer with 1 to 5 years of experience in the planning, evaluation, and design, of municipal wastewater treatment and biosolids projects. The position will include supporting multi-disciplinary teams to effectively deliver wastewater and biosolids facility upgrades and expansions. Experience should encompass all phases of project delivery, including conceptual evaluations, detailed design, construction support, and commissioning assistance.
Responsibilities to include:
- Preparation of assessment and design reports, performing design calculations, cost estimating, permitting, equipment sizing/selection, and preparation of contract documents.
- Field work and site visits from planning through construction.
- Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and technical writing.
Qualifications Required:
- 1 to 5 years of experience in delivering wastewater and biosolids projects for municipal clients.
- EIT is favorable.
- On-track for a Pennsylvania Professional Engineer license is favorable.
- B.S. degree in environmental or civil engineering. An M.S. is favorable. Degree(s) in mechanical or chemical engineering will also be considered.
- Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in all computer software typically used (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Candidate must have strong organizational skills.
- AutoCAD/Civil 3D experience is a plus.
