Human Resources Generalist

The selected candidate will work with local leadership and the HR team to support and expedite core business functions for Hazen. Essential Job Functions:
- You will provide daily human resources support to Hazen's West Regions, maybe called to support the other regions.
- Oversee the day-to-day administration and execution of human resources policies and programs such as onboarding/offboarding, benefits administration, employee relations and recruitment.
- Work closely with assigned Hiring Managers to support hiring initiatives.
- Manage the employee orientation and various onboarding processes.
- Advise Managers on the interpretation of policies and procedures.
- Provide counsel to managers on moderately complex employee relations issues, providing guidance in difficult conversations with employees.
- File and track employee leave programs including workers compensation, short-term disability, FMLA and ADA
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data trends. Effectively utilize the HRIS to obtain and analyze pertinent data and information.
- Conduct due diligence to ensure leave of absence approvals and disciplinary action is consistent with company policy.
- Performs special assignments related to strategic projects, goals, and objectives in support of the firm's mission, vision, and values.
- Keep current with changes in regulatory compliance.
Education and Experience Required:
- BA/BS in Human Resources, Business Administration, preferably in a Professional Services Industry.
- Minimum 5 years of focused relevant experience as Generalist.
- Practical knowledge of federal and California employment laws.
- Multi-State HR experience highly preferred.
- Excellent communicator and exercises good judgement.
- Must have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Multistate labor law experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Ability to effectively interact, communicate and consult with multiple levels of management on a consistent basis.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Experience with HRIS; Workforce ADP strongly preferred, SharePoint, and Deltek Vision a plus.
Our base full-time annual salary range is $80,000 - $90,000. Starting salary will be based on relevant experience, education, geographic location, internal equity and market conditions.
