Job Description
Our law firm, located in a high-rise building right off the 210 freeway in Glendale, specializes in plaintiff employment, habitability, and personal injury cases. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team on a full-time basis. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting our attorneys in all stages of litigation, from case inception to trial. Responsibilities:
Case Management:
- Assist attorneys with client communication.
- Organize and maintain case files, including document management.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support ongoing cases.
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests and responses.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and trial preparations.
Discovery and Investigation:
- Assist in the collection, review, and organization of relevant documents and evidence.
- Prepare and respond to written discovery requests, including drafting interrogatories and requests for production of documents.
- Conduct factual investigations, including interviewing witnesses and gathering information.
Trial Support:
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, including organizing trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
- Assist attorneys with courtroom logistics, document management, and exhibit handling.
- Prepare and file court documents and exhibits, ensuring compliance with court rules and procedures.
Administrative Support:
- Assist with billing and invoicing processes, including tracking expenses and preparing client invoices.
- Manage correspondence and communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification preferred.
- Litigation experience, preferably in plaintiff employment, habitability, or personal injury cases.
- Strong understanding of California civil litigation procedures and rules.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficient in legal research and writing, including drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in using legal research tools and case management software.
- Familiarity with e-discovery software and document management systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- High level of professionalism and ethical conduct.
