Job Summary and Qualifications

As directed, the Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will develop tools, maintain and provide reports to support Division, facility(s) Administration and Decision Support team to quickly develop strategies and tactics intended to drive the achievement of the Division’s overall Business Plan. The BI Analyst is responsible for the building of business intelligence tools and reports by utilizing various sources such as but not limited to HCA Cost Accounting System, Enterprise Data Warehouse and AHCA state data to assist in the strategic decision making/planning process.

The BI Analyst will serve as backup to the BI Consultant and may be assigned to a routine facility to assist facility Decision Support in the reporting needs of the facility during high levels of report requests and needs to know how to complete all facets of reporting from creating Access Database queries to standard business objects data pulls. The BI Analyst needs to understand clinical concepts and financial impact. SQL knowledge and experience are required.

The BI Analyst is also responsible for assisting and training others in the use of the special tools and reports used in Decision Support either one on one or in a classroom/meeting environment with a group.

The BI Analyst is responsible for supporting the Mission, Vision, and Values of HCA and the Division. The BI Analyst complies with Division and corporate policy and procedures, efficiently managing activities and resources, and ensures appropriate integration with the Division’s overall plan for the delivery of care and service.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Dashboard development and maintenance
• Routine reporting development and maintenance
• Monthly MOR Reporting
• Market Share Reporting and reconciliation
• Data Integrity including data scrubbing, trouble-shooting and quality checking
• Test any new/current Business Intelligence Tools for quality of data and ease of use
• Automation of reporting to reduce repetitive tasks
• PowerBI/Tableau knowledge to develop visual dashboards
• Manage projects as needed to execute objectives
• Completes other duties or special projects as assigned

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• MBA or MHA preferred.
• Two to five years Decision Support or database management and reporting experience or a minimum of two years of healthcare analytics experience.
• Relational database knowledge required.
• SQL database experience/knowledge required.
