Cardiac Services Technician Lead
HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is a full-service hospital offering a 531 bed inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical and specialty services. The campus includes Level II trauma capabilities, a Neuroscience Institute, The Heart & Vascular Hospital, a bariatrics program, the Breast Diagnostic Center, a wound care center, a level III Neonatal ICU, and the area’s only pediatric emergency department and pediatric ICU.
HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.
What you will do in this role:
- Responsible for assisting the R.N. in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of the Cath Lab patients.
- Manages all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment in the Cath Lab.
- Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care.
- Assists the physician with all procedures performed in the Cath Lab.
- Is able to function in a Code Blue situation.
- Is able to function in a call-out situation by scrubbing and managing the X-Rays.
- Ensures quality of digital imaging and adjusts parameters accordingly.
- Ensures archiving and storage of digital data and maintains proper operation of image review stations.
- Maintains quality control of equipment.
- Performs decentralized testing, according to protocol.
- Accepts responsibility of ensuring that all RT’s, CVT’s, and RCIS staff are competent in scrubbing and panning in all procedures done in the cath and EP labs.
- Performs post processing manipulation of digital data to supply physician with additional clinical data.
- Assists in the education of all staff in regards to knowing supplies needed in certain cases.
- Accepts responsibility for inputting procedure charges in the system and ordering of supplies when needed.
- Assists with scrubbing cases, room turnovers, and ongoing education with all staff.
- Assists the cath lab director with annual evaluations of the RT’s, CVT’s, and RCIS staff.
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
What qualifications you will need:
- Two years’ experience as a radiologic technician, preferably in a Cath Lab setting.
- ARRT and Radiology Technologist – Texas Department of Health
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Cours (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
