The Director of Training and Development leads the implementation of training and development programs across all business units and service lines for HCA’s Clinical Services Group (CSG) with a primary focus on the Urgent Care Service Line. This position is responsible for assessing and identifying training needs, delivering colleague training programs, and maintaining a culture of continuous learning and growth. The Director leads a team of training professionals and is responsible for defining, communicating, and tracking training and development department performance measures to support company success. As a member of a cross-functional leadership team, the Director collaborates with Human Resources leadership in strategic planning to develop recommendations and business cases to support training and development strategies that align with company objectives.
Job Summary and Qualifications
- Participates in strategic planning with Human Resources leaders and CSG stakeholders, establishing long- and short-term priorities.
- Develops business cases to propose and implement new training and development strategies, services, and tools.
- Assumes the lead role for innovation, knowledge sharing, and best practices identification for training and development at CSG.
- Develops specific training programs and objectives, budgets, and performance standards for CSG business units and service lines.
- Reports on activities, performance, talent and training-related statistics for CSG business units and service lines.
- Oversees the delivery of colleague and leadership role-based training and orientation programs.
- Ensures role-specific training requirements are updated annually and colleague training requirements are effectively addressed through training and development resources.
- Guides and maintains training and development departmental practices, methodologies, policies, and procedures.
- Oversees management of training and development colleagues, providing recommendations for hiring, promotion, salary adjustments, and personnel action where appropriate.
- Provides instructional design and development expertise to colleagues.
- Stays abreast of current training and development tools, methodologies and practices; incorporates into CSG programs where appropriate.
- Maintains working knowledge of CSG business unit and service line objectives and initiatives.
- Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement.”
- Adheres to all HCA Healthcare and CSG policies, procedures and practices.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 10 years management experience, specifically leading training activities and teams
- Healthcare industry experience preferred
- Experience in human resource functions of staffing, recruitment and training preferred.
