Job Summary:
The Emergency Department Technician II assists the professional nursing personnel by performing patient care and specific tasks under the direct supervision of an RN. The ED Tech II follows policies and procedures of West Florida Hospital. Participates in the Quality Improvement process and adheres to West Florida Hospital standards of behavior.
Essential Functions:
The ER Tech II will have a medium workload-exert up to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally and/or up to twenty (20) pounds frequently, and/or up to ten (10) pounds constantly. Manages stress appropriately and can make decisions under pressure and handle multiple priorities. The minimum requirements of this position require the individual to: stand, sit, walk, perform repetitive tasks/motions, distinguish colors, hear alarms/telephones/normal speaking voice, have good manual dexterity, good eye-hand-foot coordination, and clarity of vision. Climbing, bending, crouching, squatting, crawling, kneeling, balancing, pulling with force, reaching above own head, and reaching above shoulder are routine.
Qualifications
Education Required:
High School Diploma or GED required
Technical or Associates EMT or Paramedic Degree
Current FL EMT, EMT-P or PMD license required
Experience:
Minimum of six (6) months experience as an EMT or ER Tech I
Skills/Abilities:
Organizational, critical thinking, multi-tasking, and communication skills in a detail oriented, customer-focused organization are required.
