Job Summary and Qualifications

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Equipment Technician is responsible for receiving, asset tagging, delivering, returning and maintenance of rental medical equipment. The Equipment Technician is also responsible for all administrative functions associated with the equipment including managing all entry and exit forms, and reviewing monthly rental report and invoices. The Equipment Technician is also responsible for cleaning and disassembling moveable outgoing rental repairs, and other duties as required. 

What you will do in this role:

  • Responsible for all aspects of receiving, delivery, and return process
  • Receiving all incoming Capital Equipment Requisitions (CER) and rentals
  • Reviewing receiving documents and equipment for accuracy 
  • Asset tagging and ensuring cleanliness of new equipment 
  • Delivering equipment to its final destination
  • Cleaning and disassembling moveable outgoing rental equipment 
  • Arranging all rental equipment returns 
  • Deliver new and rental equipment accurately and in a timely manner to its final destination 
  • Retrieve moveable outgoing rental equipment from the nursing unit and stage it for pick up 
  • Maintaining all rental medical equipment with the onsite Biomed team 
  • Managing and maintaining all paperwork related to equipment, including entry and exit forms, and rental invoices 
  • Review, audit, and retain all monthly rental reports and invoices, and report any discrepancies to the Supply Chain Director (SCD) and/or designee 
  • Ensure all rental IV pumps are returned to the Service Center or vendor in a timely manner as outlined 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with rental equipment vendors 
  • Guarantee that all rental equipment is returned properly and in a timely manner as outlined 
  • Coordinating incoming CER’s with the Clinical Resource Director (CRD) and SCD and/or designee 
  • Meet with nursing unit directors and CSR regularly to determine equipment needs 
  • Respond in a timely manner to all requests from clinical staff regarding rental equipment 
  • Coordinates with Biomed group to ensure all new & rental equipment is checked, asset tagged, and added to the equipment tracking system 
  • Review monthly division rental report to discover opportunities to return existing rental equipment 
  • Coordinate with Plant Operations the return of beds to the Service Center for repair
  • Provide guidance to the SCD and/or designee regarding equipment opportunities for new construction Other 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
  • Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.” 

What qualifications you will need:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required 
  • Previous stock clerk experience Preferred
  • This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
