Job Summary and Qualifications
This position is responsible for the safe and successful daily operations of the hyperbaric oxygen treatment chamber, maintenance and certification of Pressure Vessels for Human Occupancy. This position acts as team lead, assists in the coordination of resources, both material and human, promotes patient safety through real time monitoring of TM behaviors and HBO practice and provision of immediate feedback to reinforce or correct; ensures an optimal environment of care by identifying environmental barriers to optimal patient care and taking action collaboration with appropriate departments. Complies with the Memorial Health Compliance Program, related policies and procedures and the Code of Business Practices; reports instances of perceived and actual non-compliance to Team Leader or through other reporting mechanisms.
Patient Safety, Clinical Resource and Quality of Care: Provide direct and indirect patient care for the Hyperbaric Patient. Monitor and control the pressure inside the hyperbaric Chamber. Understand the effects of therapy on the human body and monitor for complications during treatment. Monitors patient safety and response to treatment. |
Productivity on designated shift: Achieve target productivity and provide rational for variance. Flexes staff to meet productivity targets and provide safe patient care. |
Clinical Resource: Serves as a clinical resource person to physicians and other team members, patients, caregivers and referral sources regarding hyperbaric medicine eligible patients. |
Environment of Care Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of the hyperbaric chambers per industry best practice guidelines. Maintain and environment that is conducive to safe and effective patient care. Take responsibility for the appearance of the unit by working with staff and environment services. Ensures compliance with organizational and external regulatory policies (HIPPA, JCAHO, CDC, etc.) Identifies barriers to optimum environment for healing and collaborates with HBO staff and other departments to correct. |
Customer Satisfaction – Responds to patient and physician complaints. Identifies barriers that impede positive relationships with our customers. Implements appropriate change to repair relationships. Collaborates with appropriate department or individuals to resolve issues in a timely manner. |
What qualifications you will need:
Hyperbaric Medicine. - Certification for Hyperbaric Technology received from National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology – approved course focused on Hyperbaric Medicine
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS: WOCN
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: TCOM administration, strong communication skills, problem solving and analytical skills, strong computer skills
