Job Summary and Qualifications
What you will do in this role:
- Provides planning and support in the development and management of library systems, services, and process improvements
- Coordinates library acquisitions, serials, gifts, media and special collections, technical services, interlibrary loan services, Docline, OVID, and other vendor database services
- Provides patron assistance, direction, education, and other patron services as needed
- Maintains files of alumni of Wesley School of Nursing and Wesley Nurse Anesthetist School; verifies training of alumni as requested
- Maintains historical collection of photos, clippings, etc. of Wesley Medical Center and Wesley School of Nursing, and provide copies as requested
- Monitors compliance with all applicable laws and regulations promulgated by the government or other third parties pertaining to copyright issues
- Develops and maintains effective channels of communication within the department and across the Medical Center to promote relations and interaction
- Provides for resource management through the development, implementation and monitoring of the library operating budget to ensure optimal utilization of resources in a cost effective manner
- Evaluates equipment and programs, and review/submit the capital equipment budget, including justification and recommendations
- Provides Research and Quality Improvement Project planning needs and assists with Research needs as requested
Preferred education or experience you will need for this role:
- Masters degree (or working on Master’s Degree) in Master of Library Science (MLS)
- OR Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an accredited institution
- OR Professional experience in a medical and/or other special library
- OR professional library training
