Job Summary and Qualifications

Performs diagnostic radiographs and special procedures under the guidance and direction of the Radiologist and Diagnostic Supervisor. Operates equipment safely, maintains ALARA standards, follows image gently/ image wisely recommendations as well as all regulatory bodies and ACR standards. Provides mentoring and training to Tech Apprentices and Radiologic Technology students. Establishes and maintains a professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments, and the medical staff. The employee provides consistent quality patient care during the patients visit to the Radiology Department.


What you will do in this role:

    • Consents: Obtaining required consents per hospital policy 
    • Call or fax preliminary "wet read" reports to appropriate locations. Uses "Read Back and Verified" policy. 
    • Document in Radiology RIS system upon the completion of exams. 
    • Abides by the "Code of Ethics" of a technologist set forth by the state and national ARRT & ASRT governing bodies. 
    • Checks work areas at the beginning and end of shift for work supplies and cleanliness. 
    • Keeps supervisor notified of supply levels and is watchful of maintaining par levels without overstocking supplies. 
    • Manages workflow and supervises Tech Apprentices and Radiology Technology students that are assigned to shift. 
    • Immediately reports equipment malfunctions to supervisors and assists in maintaining service call logs. 
    • Attends and participates in Departmental Meetings. 
    • Actively participates in safety drills and in-services according to organizational standards. 

    What qualifications you will need:

    · Technical School Diploma or Certificate in: - Radiology Technology - Required

    · Current National Licensure in: - ARRT - Required

    · Current CPR Certification - Required

    This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
