Ultrasound Technologist - Diagnostic Imaging
As a vital member of the HCA Healthcare System, HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland which offers 33 licensed beds and shares the strength of more than 165 hospitals across the United States and England, including The Woman's Hospital of Texas and HCA Healthcare Clear Lake.
The hospital is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.
What you will do in this role:
- Responsible for performing Ultrasound procedures and evaluating the quality of exams done.
- Responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice and managing supplies, and equipment on the unit.
- Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care.
- Must meet all position responsibilities for the Ultrasound Technologist position.
- Enters appropriate charges for exams in a timely manner. Transports patients, as required, to ensure procedures are not delayed.
- Verifies physicians orders before starting procedure to ensure appropriateness/accuracy.
- Adheres to and complies with the HCA Code of Conduct as part of our Ethics and Compliance program. Attends annual training sessions.
Qualifications
What qualifications you will need:
- Diagnostic Ultrasound in abdomen, OB, and small parts.
- Graduate of accredited school of Ultrasound Technology; Educational requirements appropriate for meeting age-specific needs of the patients.
- Maintains current CPR certification.
- Must have or obtain ARDMS (ABD) certification within 6 months of hire. Ultrasonographer graduates that are registry eligible qualify - must obtain certification within six months of their hire date.
