Description
HCA Solutions is currently seeking qualified candidates for Medical Assistant at FCC Hazelton, Health Services Dept., Bruceton Mills, WV. This will include the United States Penitentiary (USP), the Federal Correctional Institute (FCI), the Secure Female Facility (SFF), and the Satellite Prison Camp (SPC), Sky View Drive, Bruceton Mills, WV. The weekly schedule will normally consist of 7.5-10 hours per day, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), not to exceed 40 hours in a week. MA's shall be scheduled between the hours of 0600-1800 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
- The Medical Assistant assists physicians in examination and treatment of patients, and performs clerical tasks related to administration of office.
- The Medical Assistant prepares treatment rooms for examination of patient.
- Interviews patient and checks pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height, drapes patient with covering correctly positions instruments and equipment, hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed, collects and prepares specimens for shipment to medical laboratories, takes electrocardiograms, telephones prescriptions to pharmacy, and authorizes refills as directed and administration of medications to include pill line and insulin line as directed by the physician, performing veni-punctures, and immunizations.
- This person schedules appointments, records and files patient charts and medical records.
- Medical Assistants may use computer to perform administrative duties. MA’s shall document inmate’s conditions in the electronic medical record (BEMR).
Requirements
- Valid and current registration as a professional MA in a state, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience within the previous 3 years;
- Documentation of medication administration and intra-venous competency.
- Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Shall provide a resume and requested documentation along with copy of all diplomas and/or certificates to support stated qualification.
