Vice President Global Operations and Technology

Responsible for all Operations and R&D Globally including North America, South America, Europe, Asia Pacific, as well as the Middle East with annual sales in excess of $2.0 Billion.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ensure all operations create a culture of safety.
• Establish annual savings targets for all operations.
• Continues to implement manufacturing systems continuous improvement program across facilities by setting up tier meetings and identifying and implementing savings projects.
• Look for consolidation opportunities that combine similar processes into fewer plants and provide increased absorption and savings.
• Must be able to effectively lead EH&S, engineering,  procurement, plant managers, warehousing, and R&D professionals.
• Create annual Capex budgets as well as a three rolling year period.  Annually review and approve $80 million in Capex and follow up to ensure they are all being completed on budget and in a timely manner.
• Be able to drive new project initiatives from concept, through codes and approvals, into plant and field trials and ramped into full-scale production.
• Work with R&D groups globally to share chemistry solutions for the benefit of all groups.
• Work with RPM companies to leverage opportunities to benefit all.
• Ensures delivery of customer service and high-quality workmanship, meeting the needs of our customers and prospective customers.
• Ensures production activities are properly staffed to meet or exceed delivery and quality expectations.
• Must be willing to travel Globally to monitor operations, coach leaders on plant improvements, and implement new programs.
• Establishes standards, documents procedures, and evaluates overall business and employee performance.
• Establishes and monitors key performance indicators, tracks statistics, and implements problem resolution strategies.
• Focuses on profitability and safety consistent with RPM’s MS168 manufacturing and EHS guidelines.
• Analyzes daily manufacturing activities, costs, operations, and forecasts data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives.
• Recruits, trains, motivates, evaluates, develops, and manages a team of direct reports capable of meeting objectives.
• Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree required in engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 10 years’ operations management experience including program budgeting and fiscal management.
• Demonstrate ability to manage large projects and run the Global Capex process.
• Proven record of continuous improvement platforms across the globe.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with SAP systems preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• This job operates in both a professional office and shop floor environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. This combination of tasks will require the employee to sit for long periods of time, walk and stand, communicate verbally, listen effectively and use finger dexterity to operate office equipment. Will travel regularly between facilities via corporate vehicle as well as airline travel to other appointments, meetings, tours, etc.  Noise and dust levels may be moderate to high at times and may require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
