HDR is seeking a highly motivated Transportation Project Manager in our Transportation Business Group as a member of our Highway team in Northern California. This position is responsible for providing technical expertise and assisting with leading HDR's transportation projects. The successful candidate with relevant experience in transportation engineering and management will support the Highway Section manager and the Highway Market sector lead in the delivery of various projects and help develop the design expertise of engineers in NorCal. The transportation project includes work on the Caltrans facilities and various projects for local cities and counties. The successful candidate will also be expected to coordinate with various disciplines including Planning, Transit/Rail, Structures, Environmental, and Strategic Communications, as needed. This is a seller/doer position and requires an individual with a strong character of self-motivation, nimble technical capability, and team leadership. Additionally, experience with developing strong proposals and an understanding of the process to respond to Request for Proposals/Qualifications, while working in collaboration with the business development team is highly desirable.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing transportation projects with hands on experience in developing project scope, schedule, and budgets, and leading a project team to deliver projects per contract requirements. Experience in managing and mentoring technical staff is highly desirable. Successful candidate shall demonstrate knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local standards and requirements and has an understanding of project delivery processes for various phases of project development such as conceptual design and feasibility, environmental documentation, preparation of Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E), and providing Design Support During Construction (DSDC).
