HDR is looking for a Power Delivery Program Leader to join our growing team in North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.
Primary Responsibilities:
The primary duty of the Power Delivery Program Leader is to develop and lead a portfolio of power delivery services including substation, system protection/planning, transmission line, distribution line, and associated strategic services in North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.
The Program Leader will establish strong client relationships in the region, develop an in-depth understanding of clients’ business objectives to determine the most effective execution strategies, then build local teams and/or leverage existing staff across the company to execute work and deliver world class services to those clients. The Program Leader will also manage individual projects within their technical expertise and may also serve as a project manager and or project principal.
Specific duties include:
- Establish the primary Power Delivery relationship with a targeted list of local, strategic clients who are important for the growth of the power delivery program.
- Leverage experience and personal networks to work with clients to create opportunities to deliver a variety of HDR services including consulting, detailed design, owners engineering, permitting, siting, right-of-way, environmental and planning. Recognize other HDR services and activities outside of core development services that would benefit clients.
- Actively recruit new talent and focus on development and mentoring of team members. Grow the teams in the Dakotas and Wyoming.
- Work independently mentor, train, and/or supervising one or more staff
- Partner with Client Managers and business development leaders to grow the practice through client activities and marketing. Participate in development of strong client relationships and serve as a Client Manager for select clients.
- Lead pursuit and proposal efforts for a wide range of opportunities; cross sell all services HDR can offer.
- Support engineering contract development and compliance.
- Manage key/critical projects or programs, including managing technical staff and sub-consultant teams to meet project delivery needs and exceed client expectations
- Provide technical and project management leadership to ensure projects have appropriate staff and that the quality program is implemented effectively.
- Encourage and participate in business and community activities as representative of HDR.
- Willingness to travel for business development and project execution.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- A minimum of 10 years management experience
- Professional registration or license
- Power delivery design experience required.
- Excellent client management skills, marketing, and business development skills in addition to contacts and relationships with power delivery clients.
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments
- Good leadership and organizational skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference given to local candidates
- Experience and client relationships throughout the Midwest.
- Knowledge of and experience with EPC delivery models.
- Previous experience managing staff, clients, contracts and hiring staff for an engineering consulting firm.

Salary : $116,000 - $147,000
