POSITION SUMMARY – Brewer

Headlands Brewing is a small and fast-growing craft brewery and we are looking to add a passionate and committed brewer to our team. Reporting to our Lead Brewer, this position will be responsible for all aspects of brewing, cellaring, packaging beer, and general operations – at our brewery in Pittsburg, CA. It’s a fun, fast-paced role that will have a real impact on the future success of Headlands.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• End-to-end beer production and packaging at our East Bay brewery
• Perform CIP/SIP of fermentors, brite tanks, beer lines, process loops, cellar data collection, etc.
• Operations support; keg cleaning, spent grain loading, trash, order picking
• Cellar measurements and log tracking including but not limited to: gravity, pH, temperature
• Accurate data entry into our MRP system (EKOS) for production, financial, and compliance tracking
• Occasional support at events at our Lafayette location, as well as off-site beer festivals and other similar events
• Occasional support of repairs & maintenance and facility improvement projects
• Support and maintain a clean and tidy facility through best practices and end of day housekeeping tasks

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Passion for brewing fantastic craft beer and for helping a small brewery grow to the next level
• At least 2 years of professional brewing experience; including cellar work and wort production
• Excellent knowledge of brewing, cleaning & sanitation, and packaging beers
• Able to consistently work efficiently and safely
• Strong attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 55 lbs multiple times regularly
• Ability to commit to putting in hours occasionally at beer events
• Forklift operator experience a plus
• Mechanical, repairs & maintenance ability or experience a plus

COMPENSATION

• Full time hourly position, compensation depends on experience, $23-$28/hr
