Summary
Under the direction of the Employee Relations Manager, the HR Generalist provides a wide range of support services to the HR organization in the areas of benefits, employee relations, HRIS, and staffing. The HR Generalist is also responsible for administering, monitoring, and auditing information in the HRIS system, providing support for various departmental initiatives or programs, and supporting the annual performance evaluation process. This position is located in Milpitas, California.

Working Conditions
The HR Generalist works primarily in an office environment from Monday thru Friday. The schedule may be altered from time-to-time to meet business or operational needs; may travel from building-to-building as needed. Stands, sits, and walks; performs various fine grasping movements, bends, and twists; operates a computer and enters information using a keyboard, operates a telephone, and other office equipment. May occasionally be required to push, pull, or lift up to 25 or more pounds.

Essential Functions
- Supports the HR organization by providing a wide range of support services including benefits, compensation, employee relations, HRIS, and staffing
- Provides support to the Employee Relations Manager with respect to training initiatives and other employee programs
- Provides support with planning Company events and activities
- Assist with COVID-19 contact tracing, reporting, and compliance as needed
- Acts as backup to the HR Specialist for new hire orientation and employee onboarding; ensures that all new hire documentation is up to date
- Provides support as needed for staffing initiatives such as scheduling interviews, posting positions, sourcing candidates, and following up with managers and supervisors on applicant status
- Partners with outside counsel on various immigration matters including H1-B, L1, O-1, and PERM filings
- Monitors and administers the leave of absence (LOA) program, including FMLA, PDL, PFL, CFRA, LTD, and STD programs; prepares leave documentation and reports and provides recommendations to management regarding status and progress
- Administers, monitors, and audits the HRIS system (Paycom) to ensure compliance and accuracy; prepares various reports as requested
- Provides bi-weekly support with running reports and tracking and following-up on employee wage and hour non-compliances
- Provide support for the annual benefits open enrollment process; enters and updates employee information in PlanSource, runs reports, and responds to employee questions
- Provides support for the annual performance evaluation process
- Administers and responds to EDD filings, including participating in EDD hearings and resolving claims issues
- Provides support and guidance to employees with regard to inquiries relating to policies and procedures
- Partners with the Employee Relations Manager to provide supports to the company-wide Employer Training Program (ETP), including monitoring and maintaining training records and assisting with administering annual ETP renewal
- Partners with other HR team members on projects or programs of various size and scope
- Manages and maintains the training database(s) and initiates company-wide training when required, including tracking and monitoring compliance training for managers and supervisors
- Responds to requests for information or reports from departments or employees
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures as required
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level*
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent relevant experience
- Two years of experience working as an HR Generalist or Sr. HR Representative
- Experience using an ERP system such as Paycom or ADP
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications
- Knowledge of the Human Resources principles, practices, and techniques
- Knowledge of various HR functions such as benefits, compensation, employee relations, and staffing
- Knowledge of ERP applications such as Paycom or ADP to enter, modify, and track various HR data
- Knowledge of and ability to administer and monitor the EDD process including hearings and closing claims
- Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications to create spreadsheets, Word documents, and presentations
- Able to communicate effectively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management both verbally and in writing
- Able to use discretion and judgement in all employee matters
