"The Office of Aging and Long-Term Care (OALTC) is seeking a candidate for the position of Director of the Center for Aging and Long-Term Care Regulatory and Policy Initiatives. Within the OALTC, the incumbent will be directly responsible to lead OALTC efforts to inform State and Department of Health leaders on a cadre of aging and long-term care (LTC) activities and innovative policies necessary to transform New York State as a leader in aging and long-term care services.
The Center, under the Director’s leadership, will oversee all aging and long-term care proposed legislation, regulatory and legislative agendas, will actively participate in annual NYS Budget discussions and will serve as long-term care representative on the NYS Most Integrated Setting Coordinating Council (MISCC). The Center Director will support OALTC through the development and implementation of policies and programs that promote a high quality, integrated, cost-effective, and equitable aging and LTC care delivery system to support population health of aging New Yorkers and will also be responsible to oversee the implementation of the Long-Term Care Workforce initiatives and the Nursing Home Safety and Evaluation Program enacted in the State’s 2022-23 Executive Budget. Hospice and Palliative Care initiatives will also be located within this Center.
On a daily basis, the Center Director will lead a team of professionals and engage internal and external stakeholders for the implementation and sustainable actions related to Age Friendly NY & LTC Support Initiatives; the NYS Master Plan for Aging; Reimagining LTC Task Force; Home and Community Based Services Policy & Workforce Initiatives in conjunction with Medicaid LTC Services and Support program and will provide support for the Long-Term Care Workforce Innovation Program."
