The Lead Accountant under the limited supervision of the Finance Manager, with responsibility to plan,
conduct, and supervise assignments; provides superior quality, competitive value, and outstanding
service and is primarily concerned with analysis of accounting records, and internal control functions over
financial information of Health First, Inc. and its affiliates. Additionally, this position will be required to
communicate directly with senior managers in an effort to clearly lay out financial positions based on
analysis of financial statements and application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This
position performs complex and detailed analysis of financial indicators, handles various audits and acts in
advisory capacity; making recommendations and decisions.
- Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations prepared by Accounting Analyst/Senior Accounting
- Analyst, and make recommendations for proper application of GAAP.
- Review and approve non-standard journal entries, less than $500K.
- Approve balance sheet account analysis and bank account reconciliations reviewed or prepared
- by Accounting Analyst/Senior Accounting Analyst.
- Provide training and assistance to the Accounting Analyst staff and HF Management.
- Review fixed asset and CIP spending for all HF entities, confirming appropriate GAAP and capital
- budget action.
- Prepare audit lead sheets and audit reconciliations for annual external audit
- Preparation or review of selected tax returns\: county, state, and federal.
- Make recommendations regarding the proper accounting of reserves, assets, and liabilities for
- various technical issues.
- Represent Health First, Inc. through community and professional organizations.
- Lead the financial reporting audit and other regulatory audit processes.
- Lead the accounting team in various team building and engagement activities throughout the year
- Lead the communication process from external and internal customers to the accounting team,

- Lead the month end and year-end financial statement close process
- Lead the month end and year-end financial statement preparation and review process
- BS degree in accounting, finance, or related field, from an accredited college or university required, Master degree/CPA desired.
- Five to eight years accounting analysis experience required.
- Prior experience and knowledge in the use of software packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Windows.
- Extensive knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of GAAP.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
