Analyzes and tests new or existing procedures, information systems, or utility programs for efficiency and effectiveness. Conducts studies and prepares reports that include study findings, recommendations, and instructions for proposed system implementations; formulates logical descriptions of problems; and devises optimum solutions. Designs, modifies, and implements new or revised systems to serve new purposes or improve work flow. Details input and output record formats for computer programs, designs forms, and writes instructions for the use of forms. Determines operational, technical, and support requirements for the location, installation, operation, and maintenance of office equipment and computer and data systems.
Provides technical assistance and support for troubleshooting applications problems. Reviews and analyzes computer printouts, reports, and performance indicators to locate code problems; and corrects errors by modifying or correcting code. Assists with defining the goals of the system and devises flow charts and diagrams describing logical operational steps of the programs. Creates, coordinates and presents program data and/or demographic reports. Collaborate with team on projects and support other business operations as determined by legislative, statutory, regulatory, office policy and procedures or ad hoc requests.
Serves as a point of contact for Part D contractors. Represents OPSH as financial support in meetings, providing financial data for OPSH program budget and spending. Assist in the planning, development or evaluation of reporting needs. Creates, documents, and maintains procedures that support financial reporting needs for OPSH programs. Assist with process improvement. Attend meetings and provide support to the Analysis and Decision Support team and Team Lead as dictated by business operations and needs as determined by the Team Lead, up to and including attendance at conference and meeting with subject matter experts.
Assist in building process and procedures that adhere to OPSH policy. Will analyze and assist in defining agency disaster recovery responsibilities and procedures. May monitor the interface of systems, subsystems, and software applications. Will evaluate and recommend action on testing and certification of software and hardware upgrades. Will write and update personal computer and mainframe application programs. Will assist in information systems security administration. Will train others.
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response or recovery; or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment or location.
