Purpose of this position
The purpose of this position is to implement laundry procedures to operate the laundry department in a cost-effective, efficient manner to safely meet residents’ needs in compliance with Federal, State and local requirements. Must be committed to person-centered care by embracing and following the facility’s goal of person-centered care by demonstrating and being supportive of individual resident choice and controlled resident-preferred routines in all aspect of daily living.
Authority is delegated to the individual in this position to:
- Implement laundry procedures to meet residents’ needs in compliance with Federal, State and local requirements.
- Participate in the monitoring system for the laundry department.
- Notify supervisor when supplies are needed.
- Notify supervisor when equipment is in need of repair.
- Notify supervisor when linen and residents’ clothing are in need of repair.

Qualifications
Qualifications
High school graduate or GED
Ability to read and write, speak and understand English.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Motor coordination and manual dexterity to sort clothing and linens, load and unload washers and dryers.
Finger dexterity to pick up article and manipulate them into various types of folds and to set machines.
Color vision to ascertain stains and separate colored garments from whites.
Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, visitors, and other facility personnel.
Meet all health requirements imposed by law.
Numerical ability sufficient to measure ingredients and learn dilution ratios.
