JOB OVERVIEW: This position is responsible for leading a team of Buyers to achieve industry leading results in inventory fulfillment rates, turns, profit margin, supply efficiencies and inventory objectives. The Manager will partner with senior level leaders throughout the organization regarding inventory challenges, strategies, initiatives and communication. The Manager will provide coaching and direct mentoring, ensuring that all tools, processes and training resources are leveraged and utilized to drive ongoing improvements on all key inventory performance metrics - both on an individual buyer and group level.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage teams responsible for purchasing product to achieve customer satisfaction and inventory levels aligned with company goals.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
- Ensure availability of products in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels.
- Review and plan requirements for acceptable inventory levels.
- Lead purchasing function in achieving margin goals through initiating deals with our suppliers, along with purchasing investment buys based on rebate agreements, future price increases or supplier deals offered.
- Manage team activities of forecast accuracy, excess inventory management and supplier relationships to maximize profitability
- Partner in development strategies of the purchasing team to increase knowledge and productivity.
- Partner with suppliers to improve overall supply chain and customer satisfaction, maximizing profitability, facilitating meetings on a regular basis.
- Partner with the Supply Chain team to improve overall efficiencies and cost savings initiatives.
- Work with Marketing and Merchandising to understand future strategies/new sales plans, promotions, supplier agreements and excess inventory opportunities.
- Monitor activity of the function to ensure work is being performed and goals are being achieved.
- Review E3 system reports regularly to analyze status of inventory and forecasted merchandise needs.
- Coordinate with finance on matters involving inventory reserves.
- Select, develop, and evaluate TSMs to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Strong understanding of Inventory Management / Replenishment
- Knowledge of ISO 9000 certification and maintenance.
- Purchasing processes, Inventory Management analysis skills.
- Inventory Management system knowledge, such as E3 Trim.
- Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
Typically 10 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience; 1 or more years of management experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus
TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.
