Graphic Designer Exhibits (Museums/Visitor Experiences)
HealyKohler Design, a Museum Planning and Exhibition Design firm based in Washington, DC, is seeking a highly motivated, graphic designer to join our expanding team. We design exhibitions for cultural history museums, visitor and education centers, and traveling exhibits. We also design university sports facility branding and sports museums.
This is a full-time position, located in Washington DC and is not remote.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and develop exhibit and interpretive graphic programs, donor recognition, and environmental graphics.
• Translate client needs into effective design solutions.
• Design throughout multiple phases of development and create production files for printing graphic programs.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design
• 1-5 years of graphic design experience in exhibition and/or environmental graphic design.
• Proficiency in Adobe CS Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Word& Excel
• Typography and usage are essential
• Outstanding design sense with the ability to integrate messaging, color, and imagery
• Excellent communication skills
• Leadership experience
• Interest and exposure to a variety of venues including museums, cultural centers, and sports facilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality are required
• Working knowledge of industry best practices including universal design, ADA compliance, fabrication materials and methods will be helpful
