Apprentice Electrician on the Highway Division
We will train in all areas of field work AND you will be eligible to obtain a CDL, all expenses paid. You will get an immediate raise upon obtaining CDL Class A License.
Summary: Assist in the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical systems in their respective fields, including electrical generation, transmission, substations, distribution systems, traffic control and lighting systems, communication systems and related work by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following assigned duties:
Drive pickups, light trucks, pickups with trailer and basic operation of skid steer loaders or other light duty equipment and hand tools. Operation of fork lifts, digger trucks, bucket trucks, cranes, trenchers, backhoes, excavators, directional drills or similar line construction equipment require proper training, experience and demonstration of proficiency prior to independently operating this equipment.
Assist supervisor in equipment setup, maintenance and operation.
Load/unload trucks by hand or with equipment, move and layout material.
Dig and backfill by hand or with excavation equipment, assist supervisor in excavation and backfill operations, operate tamps and compaction tools, assemble conduit and raceways, set pull boxes and enclosures, pull and string wire, make up wire terminations and connections, tie steel, pour concrete, frame and assemble poles, install hardware and fixtures, erect structures and other tasks as assigned by supervisor based on employee’s qualifications and experience.
Mathematical Skills – Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
Professionalism - Ability to communicate and reason with owners, engineers, general and sub-contractors as well as the public. Maintain a professional appearance and image of the company.
Physical Demands - Employee must successfully perform the essential functions of this position regardless of weather conditions or hours of work required. Employee must frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift/move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required included close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment – Schedule normally includes extended hours, night or weekend work hours and work during inclement weather conditions. Employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
Other Requirements –
Willing to work in multiple states and travel up to 50% of the time
Dependable transportation to and from the jobsite
No DWI, no loss of license in 2 years and no more than 6 point violations in 2 years
Ability to clear a TSA or government background check to access secure and sensitive government areas
Schedule– Employees work Monday to Friday with some Saturdays and Sundays due to workload, project requirements, power outages or emergency work. 10 – 15 hours overtime is standard.
Probationary Period: The first 90 days of employment will be a probationary period. Upon completion, we will review your progress and determine if regular employment status will be extended. After the successful completion of the probationary period, you will become eligible for the below benefits:

Travel Expenses: The Company provides a per diem compensation payment of $125 per night to qualifying projects.
