FUNCTION

This position is responsible for managing global training by partnering with subject-matter experts, managers and executive management.  This position is responsible for identifying appropriate methodologies to deliver training, including the support of employee training needs and targeted learning strategies.  This position requires senior level experience in the design and development of a wide range of development topics using computer based, self-study and classroom style trainings.  This position will direct content design and delivery as well as provide oversight for communication strategies that will explain and promote a full range of development opportunities.  This role also requires experience in monitoring and evaluating impact of training programs against desired business results.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES

A. Administrator learning technologies (30%)

DELIVERABLE

  • Manage all of Heifer’s learning technology platforms
  • Manage all system configurations ensuring compliance with all internal and external requirements
  • Manage system integration for user logins as needed and assigns user permissions.
  • Creates and manages user structures including the creation of learning programs and user groups
  • Create and maintain the Knowledge Base articles and video postings
  • Document all system processes for administration of the systems, user maintenance and content management
  • Train and support learners on how to use the technology for professional development
  • Troubleshoot learning platform and/or course issues
  • Run data analytic reports for all learning platforms
B. Training and curriculum development (25%)

DELIVERABLE
  • Lead Heifer’s curriculum development strategy to support the current and future needs for professional development of global staff
  • Define curriculum development projects and strategies that balance short and long-term goals
  • Design and develop self-paced, online training, including on-demand videos and webinars
  • Develop consistent measurement and business impact metrics for all curriculum to ensure business impact and return
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to understand the specialized training needs
  • Publish courses and classes, register students and communicate to staff globally about new course offerings
  • Work with subject matter experts, voiceover talent, video production, and graphic sources to produce draft and final versions of each course
  • Design engaging training materials for a variety of delivery methods, including instructor-led, computer-based, web-based, and mobile training
  • Assist in production of graphics, animations, audio importing & editing
  • Support the design and development of collateral, presentations, and additional resources
C. Learning, performance consulting and coaching (20%)

DELIVERABLE
  • Collaborates with the HR Business Partner on training needs and opportunities for the expansion of talent development globally
  • Provides assistance in the review of adult learning strategies and training techniques.
  • Facilitates sessions to drive change, learning, and organization effectiveness solutions
  • Conduct research on best practices and performs analysis to recommend solutions that impact the business
  • Serve as a coach for both individuals and teams to support professional development
D. Project Management (20%)

DELIVERABLE
  • Manage all system upgrades and changes across Heifer’s learning platforms
  • Manages complex learning-related initiatives as a business partner with internal customers
  • Creates project plans for each initiative.
  • Lead, monitor and report on the progress of projects, ensuring the accuracy of status reports and associated metrics.
  • Balances workload in a dynamic environment, while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
May perform other job-related duties as assigned (5%)

Minimum Requirements

  • 4-year college degree in education, training and development, organizational design, organizational development, communications, or related discipline
  • 7 years senior level training delivery experience including but not limited to on-line, microlearning, and classroom
  • 7+ years of developing training for various technical audiences
  • 7 years’ experience in managing a learning management system or learning content management systems
  • Must be self-directed in planning, development and carrying out of work
  • Experienced training design software knowledge required for training development
  • Expert level experience in managing, creating and reviewing learning deliverables and content, including but not limited to training manuals, procedures, presentations, and curated content
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project and time management skills
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design and blended learning techniques
  • Fluency in English required
  • Ability to travel nationally and globally
Preferred Requirements
  • Masters Degree Preferred in related field
  • Certification in the Birkman Method personality assessment tool preferred
  • Proficiency in the use of Storyline, Camtasia, Adobe Connect, Articulate 360, eLearning Suite, Captivate, Photoshop and other learning and authoring tools preferred
  • Experience working with senior and executive level management preferred
  • Ability to speak a second language highly desirable, preferably Spanish.

Most Critical Proficiencies

  • Experience with running professional training, ideally for remote teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to internal and external partners and build supportive relationships.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Knowledge and skills in adult education and in the design and delivery of training through multiple methodologies including facilitated participatory learning, instructor led training, and alternative delivery systems such a computer-based training, video and web-based systems.
  • Solid experience in the assessment, design, development and evaluation of training activities.
  • Thorough knowledge of talent development programs, preferably within the context of an international organization.
  • Knowledge of institutional development/capacity building.
  • Proven planning and organizational skills, including setting objectives and priorities, multi-tasking, and proactive decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Basic computer skills, preferably using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and ability to use email and internet for communication and research.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to an often-changing environment and be a champion of change
