Responsibilities:
- Train, develop, and supervise Cheese Associates to meet sales objectives, margin, and customer service levels.
- Prioritize and delegate daily work based on varying business needs.
- Communicate effectively to the Cheese team, merchandisers and corporate teams.
- Serve alongside of associates, completing daily taks as needed, including: scanning and recording shrink, order writing, stocking, rotating, and merchandising.
- Utilize the white board for department communication, and in general, communicating appropriately to Cheese team.
- Create weekly schedules for Cheese Associates in alignment with the needs of the business.
- Monitor and maintain all food handling and temperature standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of prodcuts within the Dairy Department.
- Responsible for the effective leadership of the team.
- Execute merchandising plans.
- Create and communicate scorecards to drive change within the Cheese Department.
- Attend required corporate meetings and training classes
- Comply with all personal and food safety company standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivelant required.
- 1 year of experience in a cheese environment preferred.
- 1-3 years of leadership experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Possess the ability to lead and make appropriate decisions in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess strong time management, planning, and organizing skills.
- Possess the ability to effectively coach, train and provide feedback to all team members.
- Possess the ability to perform all duties as a Cheese Associate, as the business requires.
- Possess the ability to frequent lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Must be willing to work the amount of hours required to meet company objectives, with the understanding that occasionally business needs will require additional time.
- Must be willing to work the non-traditional five day work schedule, including Saturday, Sunday and evenings.
- Occasionally exposed to extreme conditions, hot or cold.
