Heavy Duty Forklift Operator

We are now accepting resume/applications for EXPERIENCE heavy duty Forklift Operators for the Morgan City, LA and surrounding area.  Duties/Responsibilities may/may not be limited to the following:

• Scope of Work:
  • Responsible for operating forklift to transport shipping containers to designated location including loading & unloading trucks.
• NOTE: CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK 30 CONSECTUTIVE DAYS UPON HIRE
• Required Skills:
  • Ability to operate forklift efficiently (Taylor)
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, peripheral vision, and ability with spatial relationships.
  • Ability to read and understand packaging, shipping documents, and safety guidelines.
  • Strong oral & written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task
  • Punctuality
  • Knowledge of the safety procedures regarding the use of forklift trucks
  • Team player, able to get along with a diverse group of people working towards a common goal
• Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Performing material handling operations using forklift trucks
  • Carry out loading and unloading operations using forklift trucks
  • Preparing materials for loading operations
  • Placing materials in warehouse storage areas in accordance with instructions
  • Checking condition of materials during loading, unloading and handling operations
  • Completing and updating documentation relating to goods in storage and in transit
  • Carrying out stocktaking operations
  • Maintain forklift equipment by troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, recommending repairs and performing routine pre and post inspections.
    • Maintain material handling equipment by recharging, cleaning, oiling, refueling and other necessary actions, and record all information on log sheet.
  • Efficiently pull customer orders for shipment, ensuring that the correct number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
  • Arrange all containers and/or boxes to ensure safe delivery of products to customers and inspect all pallets for accurate stickers and addresses
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
  • Transport merchandise between receiving stations, warehouse and production areas.
  • Record the material amount or count received and circulated.
  • Lift and carry merchandises/material as needed.
  • Load and unload merchandise to and from trailers.
  • Mange house keeping activities when requested.
    • Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized.
    • Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities.
  • Record information regarding movements of supplies, materials and finished products
  • Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner..
  • Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods
  • Handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis
  • Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites.
  • Have endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to pass a drug screen
• Pay:
  • $16.00
  • Weekly Pay
  • Pay Schedule: Monday - Sunday
• Schedule:
  • 8-10 Hour Days
  • Monday - Friday (Weekends as needed)
    • 6 AM - 5 PM
• Duration of Job: Full-Time
