Hello Sunshine is seeking a Social Media Director to work in a hands-on-role to develop and execute the strategy for The Home Edit. We are seeking a self-starter who is well-versed across all social media platforms and has agency or in-house experience overseeing social media strategy at a large brand, agency, or publisher, preferably with experience working in the female landscape and with editorial oversight.

This position will lead the strategic planning, development, ongoing execution and management of social media activities for your brands. This role is perfect for a strategic thinker who has experience authoring strategy, conceptualizing creative and using qualitative and quantitative insights to guide their work. A big ideas person, you are able and eager to brainstorm collectively as well as individually, to keep social content fresh, exciting, and creative. You’re also known as a an amazing leader and can thoughtfully communicate and delegate.


Responsibilities

  • Develop the social media strategy, social media campaigns and tactical plans from beginning to implementation, in order to support your brands’ businesses and social objectives.
  • Author and oversee social media content creation, planning, and execution, ensuring alignment with broader business, editorial, and audience goals.
  • Ensure all content is aligned with the brand voice and ladders up to the strategy; route necessary approvals and department briefs.
  • Collaborate and work cross-functionally across the org to assist with larger tentpoles, events and company-wide initiatives.
  • Define and develop comprehensive performance goals to optimize social media efforts daily, while leveraging learnings and adapting.
  • Analyze campaign results and determine audience behavior and engagement to ensure that insights are integrated into current and future strategies.
  • Present strategies, analysis, and key learnings regularly to senior leadership and various stakeholders.
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of emerging social media platforms and best-in-class tactics, as well as look for opportunities to innovate.
  • Identify industry trends, relevant news, and other opportunities to increase your brands’ share of voice in the space.
  • Foster and participate in our overall Hello Sunshine values and vision.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor your team. Be open with communication, provide growth paths, and share the larger business vision.
  • Experience running social media for a global brand, media company, agency, or publishing entity.
  • The position requires a candidate with significant experience with talent-led brands and directing social campaigns to support live content, tours, commerce, book publishing and IP launches.
  • Experience maintaining and growing social audiences across multiple platforms.
  • Self-starter and creative thinker with astute attention to detail, you are proactive and able to work on tight deadlines.
  • Well-versed in current and emerging social platforms, their products, and trends.
  • Creative thinker capable of conceptualizing and presenting big ideas and new formats.
  • An eye for visual design and ability to capture and curate best-in-class social content.
  • Strong writing and editorial skills.
  • A lover of storytelling with a passion for centering and advancing female narratives.
  • Experience using marketing tools like Google business, Canva, CapCut, Premiere, Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Later.
  • Have experience leading and managing direct reports.
