Position Overview
HELP USA is seeking a Director of Operations who will report to an Executive Director and oversee all facets of maintenance and security for one of our facilities, ensuring the orderly operation of the facility and maintenance of the physical plant. Specific responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

Supervising the Safety (Security) Department, planning and directing the operation of a 24-hour security operation.

Supervising the Maintenance Department, ensuring proper housekeeping of the facility and upkeep of the physical plant.

Recruiting, hiring, and training Safety and Maintenance staff.

Scheduling staff for all required federal, state and local government certifications and licensing as well as skill development training.

Serving as site Fire Safety Director, ensuring compliance with all pertinent fire and safety regulations and conducting regular fire drills as required by law.

Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with local Police and Fire departments.

Ensuring timely preparation and distribution of incident reports as well as required monthly reports.

Functioning as On-Call Site Administrator on a rotational basis with other facility managerial staff.

Being available on a 24/7/365 basis to be notified of any emergency situations occurring at the sit and responding, when necessary, to assume direct supervision of the safety & security operation.
Requirements

Current New York State Security Guard License required.

FDNY F-80 certification and F-02 required.

High School Diploma/GED required. Extensive law enforcement, military and/or building maintenance experience may be accepted in lieu of High School Diploma.

Demonstrated experience in facility operations and supervision of facility operations staff.

Minimum of five (5) years managerial experience.

Prior experience and/or demonstrated skills in social services operations and ability to integrate facility social service program operations preferred.

Valid Drivers US driver's license required.

The ideal candidate possesses both physical plant management and law enforcement (police or corrections)/security/military experience.
