What are the responsibilities and job description for the Doula position at Helping Hands LLC?
Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional and physical support to expectant mothers during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period
- Assist with relaxation techniques, breathing exercises, and pain management strategies
- Educate and empower mothers about the birthing process and their options
- Advocate for the mother's birth preferences and help create a birth plan
- Offer continuous support during labor, including massage, positioning guidance, and reassurance
- Provide breastfeeding support and guidance after delivery
- Offer emotional support and assist with postpartum recovery
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Doula is preferred but not required
- Experience working with pregnant women and new mothers is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of childbirth physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology
- Ability to assess the needs of expectant mothers and provide appropriate support
- Compassionate and non-judgmental approach to care
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
