Nutritionist/Dietician Position Summary
Helping Hands Wellness Center (HHWC) is an organization aimed at providing medical resources that will break the generational chain of poverty as it relates to an individual’s well-being. We believe in treating individuals from a holistic point of view including medical, emotional, and nutritional needs. We are looking for competent clinicians whose professional values align with our organizational values. This position will provide direct nutrition coaching to individuals served through HHWC.
Job Description
- Job Type: Contracted (1099 - individuals are responsible for filing their own taxes)
- Available days/hours for Clinic: Mon, Wed, Fri (9am-7pm)
- Available days/hours for KPS (Kalamazoo Public Schools Nutrition Education): Tues/Thurs (9am-6pm)
- Salary: $30-35 dollars an hour
Responsibilities
- Assess client’s unique nutritional needs based on documented medical history, previous diagnoses, and physical symptoms (staying within our scope of practice, nutrition clinicians do not diagnose)
- Educate clients about the benefits of good, balanced nutrition, prevention and how to adopt healthier eating and lifestyle habits
- Provide nutritional recommendations, including supplements, and meal plans based on client’s unique needs, readiness level, likes/dislikes and personal budget
- Co-create nutrition, fitness, sleep and stress related SMART goals with clients
- Monitor client’s progress based on specific, objective measurement assessment markers and make adjustments accordingly
- Maintain clear client records, documenting and providing progress notes within HHWC database
- Work alongside and coordinate client care with other HHWC nutrition clinicians
- Connecting with other services within Helping Hands Wellness Center (Medical, Emotional)
- Create and provide educational material for clients based on their nutritional needs and goals
- Refer clients to outside services as necessary
- Request nutrition related labs from HHWC medical clinicians as needed
- Provide care to clients of all ages
Position Requirements
- Degree and/or certification in Nutrition or Registered Dietetics related program
- Demonstrate clinical and case management skills
- Display exceptional leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to be punctual and manage time effectively
