SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Branch Chief, Infectious Diseases Laboratory Branch, the Laboratory Allocation Coordinator is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and documentation of Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC) COVID-19 administrative and fiscal activities within the Center for Infectious Diseases (CID), Division of Communicable Disease Control (DCDC), Infectious Diseases Laboratory Branch (IDLB) and coordination of ELC COVID-19 administrative and fiscal activities among the local Public Health Laboratories (PHLs). The Laboratory Allocation Coordinator will work closely with Branch Chief to develop and implement processes, work with program staff, and assist leadership with day to day program operations. The Laboratory Allocation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating grant applications and progress reports, monitoring program budgets and making recommendations to improve PHL network capacity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop ELC COVID-19 project budgets and work plans, in collaboration with Center for Infectious Diseases (CID) Infectious Diseases Laboratory Branch (IDLB) staff, CDPH Emergency Preparedness Office (EPO), Heluna Health and local Public Health Jurisdictions and Laboratories.
- Monitor ELC COVID-19 budget expenditures and projections on an ongoing basis and review Statements of Activities on a monthly basis and as needed.
- Review ELC COVID-19 budgets and work plans with project Principal Investigators and forecast progress and potential challenges.
- Assist in monitoring, tracking, and reporting of ELC COVID-19 performance measures.
- Write and compile reports for submission, meeting critical deadlines.
- Maintain documentation (e.g., spreadsheets, reports) of all administrative, fiscal, and programmatic ELC COVID-19 activities, as indicated.
- Participate in ELC COVID-19 project conference calls and attend meetings, providing administrative and fiscal updates and information as needed.
- Analyze ELC COVID-19 project operations and make recommendations to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
- Maintain excellent working relationship with CDPH, Heluna Health, and other partners.
- Conduct other duties as requested or assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, required.
- Graduate degree in public health or related field, preferred.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in administrative and grant management, required.
- Experience working collaboratively with diverse groups with multiple activities, timelines, and deadlines.
- Experience in any of the following preferred: public health, emergency preparedness, diagnostic laboratory testing, medical care, COVID response, government agencies.
