So what will you be doing all day?
You would join us in our Lenexa KS - HQ office as an Electrical Estimator-ENTRY LEVEL working on things like...
- Budgeting project cost off of assessment narrative and schematic design
- Conceptual estimating
- Computing cost factors and preparing construction estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids, working with vendors or subcontractors while determining cost effectiveness.
- Reviewing documents to determine construction logistics, phasing and feasibility; ensure scope coverage, estimate/budget completeness
- Preparing scope of work documentation; incorporate into proposal for the client
- Completing take-offs for Electrical Systems, low voltage through high
- Quantity Surveys
- Unit Pricing
- Labor discussions with piping, sheet metal or electrical operations personnel
- Working with the Director of Business Development and/or other key personnel to review market potential and possibilities for bids which fit the company’s strategic goals.
- Promoting the company’s capabilities and expertise when dealing directly with key decision makers in the owner or general contracting companies.
- Consulting with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Update and regularly maintain the company estimating tools and systems
- Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.
We'd love for you to apply for this position if you...
- Meet one of the following education requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a construction or electrical engineering related discipline, OR
- At least five years of electrical construction/service field trade experience/training/education, OR
- Equivalent combination of the above.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 5-7 years of electrical construction estimating experience. Preferably accustomed to successfully bidding on non-residential projects that are at least $250,000 or more in cost.
- LEED Certification is preferred but not required.
- Must have accurate typing skills and be proficient in using database, email, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing applications, specifically Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook and Windows) and be willing to learn new software applications.
