What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Lead position at Hendrickson?
Position Purpose:
Responsible for overseeing the training program, including the assessment, plan, implementation, facilitation, tracking and day –to-day operations. Ensures associates have the required tools, knowledge and skills to perform their jobs and support our mission. Works with all management and supervisory staff to address changes in the work environment and develop a learning culture. Monitors the effectiveness of training.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Promote and advance a learning culture within the organization
- Work with training process owner to clearly understand the product demand level at minimum of 3 months out. The capacity plan must reconcile the difference between forecast & current training system capacity so the training system can provide qualified associates at the rate needed to meet demand level.
- Work with Production and Master Trainers to determine the need for additional Certified Trainers and deliver Train the Trainer classes for all 3 shifts quarterly
- Develop and/or modify Facility Training Plan at a minimum monthly, more frequently if necessary.
- Coordinate the PHD process
- Manage and launch the offline assembly training process/area
- Work with Master Trainers and other key stakeholders to develop Facility Training Plan with sensitivity to future demand level. The training plan should include both a plan for new hires as well as cross-training. Use the training matrix as a tool to develop the training plan.
- Ensure technical resources, training materials and supplies are available to trainers.
- Implementation of the training processes
- Assist floor Supervisors with tracking training progress by following up with associates and ensuring completion of training programs in the required time frame.
- Maintain training recordkeeping, including updating the training matrix, and filing of associate training documents.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
· High School Diploma/GED required, some college preferred
- Willing to attend HOT POPPER training to become HOT POPPER Master Trainer
- Prior training experience, developing and delivering, preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to train individuals and small groups
- Microsoft Office proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) required
- Strong Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels of the workforce to include management
- Possess thorough understanding of the processes and work flow for given area
- Maintain an acceptable attendance level of less than four points in a rolling calendar year
- Must maintain good standing for attendance and discipline, no written warnings
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a similar industry.
- Ability to work hours outside regular schedule and overtime as needed.
