3-D Metrology Specialist
Hensley Industries, Inc. is seeking a results-focused 3-D Metrology Specialist to join its dynamic Engineering team in the Dallas, Texas headquarters. The 3D Metrology Specialist will be responsible for acquiring geometrical data in 3 axes (x,y,z) using the latest software and tools. The scans maybe used to create solid models inside of Pro/ENGINEER using Reverse Engineering Tools, generate inspection reports using software proprietary to the tools used, or to investigate necessary modifications and/or improvements to maintain design intent, increase throughput, and continuous innovation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform 3D scanning of an array of parts and tools.
- Maintain a log all projects and task statuses for daily updates and real time tracking
- Provide thorough reports outlining results and solutions for improvements
- Work closely with Design Engineering to determine critical to function dimensions and ensure 3D model and 2D CAD integrity as related to 3D scans
- Work closely with the Production Department and Pattern Shop to evaluate areas of improvements as related to part geometry, to increase product throughput while maintaining stringent Quality Control parameters.
- Develop work instructions, SOPs, and related procedures as related to the position.
- Manage the samples program until mass production approval in house and outsource suppliers
- Create and implement training program in 3D metrology for QC Inspectors/Technicians.
- Update/create SAP inspection lots and maintain master data in SAP
Must know and comply with the Komatsu Worldwide Code of Business Conduct, KAC code of Conduct, Hensley Environment Policies, Hensley Safety Policies, and Hensley Quality Policies.
REQUIREMENTS
- Highschool diploma required. Some college coursework preferred.
- Coursework/Certificate in 3D scan systems and 3D CAD parametric modeling
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of employees
- SAP experience preferred
- Must be able to travel in the US and to foreign locations on occasion.
