Senior Hardware Engineer

Overview

Hepburn and Sons LLC is looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to support the full range of technical engineering support and program management of Above Water Sensors and Lasers Program Office. 

This is a contingent position based on award/funding from the customer.

Responsibilities

• Provide program risk assessments, analysis, tracking, and reporting, to include performing program risk assessments for use in senior level briefings.
• Provide technical and program management support for electronic attack and electronic protection test efforts.
• Analyze domestic and international strategies and policies. 
• Collect data, conduct analysis and prepare briefings.
• Assess international technology.
• Provide systems and advanced technology analysis.
• Provide US and foreign government/contractor liaison efforts.
• Develop draft international cooperation strategies, technology assessments, feasibility studies and other assessments.
• Support and participate in technical and programmatic discussions.
• Assist with technical liaison efforts between foreign and US Government and Contractor personnel.

Qualifications

• High school degree, or a GED, and twenty (20) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser hardware development, production and/or test experience, OR
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and fifteen (15) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser hardware development, production and/or test experience, OR
• Master's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and ten (10) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser hardware development, production and/or test experience.
• DoD Secret level clearanace 

Preferred: 

• Demonstrated knowledge of:
  • Navy/DOD policy and guidance
  • System/subsystem design
  • Manufacturing processes, including specialized knowledge of RF components (radar/EW), electro-optic/IR focal planes (EO/IR), or High-powered Pulsed Laser sources and directors (Lasers)
  • Product development and test
  • Government test, inspection, and witness standards and execution of qualification testing and production acceptance
  • Ship Integration requirements, standards, documentation, and processes
  • Hardware ECPs, Field changes, ORDALT/SHIPALT processes, procedures, and shipyard/waterfront operations
  • CDRL management and technical reviews
  • Criteria and assessments of Waivers, Deviations, and Variances
