Reports to: Resident Care Coordinator, Supervisor-In-Charge, and/or Administrator: This job requires a flexible schedule with 4 days on and 3 days off, and 3 days on and 4 days off based on the facility's needs.
Position Summary: The primary purpose of your job position is to assist in the administering of medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of the attending physician, your supervisor, and your administrator. The administration of medications shall be in accordance with established nursing standards, the policies, procedures, and practices of this facility, and the requirements of this state.
Delegation of Authority:
As a Certified MedicationAide, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.

Responsibilities:
Administrative Functions:
- Follow the policies and procedures of the facility governing the administration of medications to residents
- Note and report errors in the administration of medications.
- Assist in developing and implementing procedures or programs of the facility that seek to determine what medication errors are taking place, when, where, and why they occur, and how they can be prevented.
- Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, charts, reports, etc., and submit these as may be required.
- Maintain a friendly, productive, working relationship with other members of the patient care staff, the RN Consultant, attending physicians, and pharmacists.
- Report any complaints or grievances made by residents to your Supervisor or Administrator.
- Participate and cooperate with any facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as requested by the Administrator or the Resident Care Coordinator.
Essential Duties
- Assists with the evaluation, preparation, and presentation of patient care plans for patients in the care of Heritage Care Home.
- Evaluates patients for appropriate care plan fit and function based on clinical examination, medical history, and vital signs.
- Prepares and or prepares specimens for transport.
- May assist with the setup of equipment.
- May assist with lab supplies and equipment.
- May assist with patient lab services as needed.
- May assist with patient care as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification in Medical Technicians preferred. Certified Medication Aides must be certified within 6 months of hire date or be able to be certified through Heritage Care Home.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed.

Pay: $12.00 - $17.00 per hour
