POSITION SUMMARY:
The Paralegal reports directly to the Compliance and is responsible for performing a broad range of legal and administrative support to the In-House Counsel and the organization overall.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Maintain contract database of existing contracts for the company; Coordinate and maintain database for all contracts; and communicate with assigned legal counsel throughout contract lifecycle;
  • Confirm template agreements, NDAs/MNDAs, vendor agreements, lease amendments are accurately and fully completed with attention to details;
  • Research and review city, state and federal laws in multiple jurisdictions;
  • Assist with the management of the company's intellectual property database.
  • Provide paralegal support in all phases of litigation and claims handling, including but not limited to, coordinating subpoena responses, timely responding to pre-litigation record requests and requests for information, coding documents for production and coordinating discovery requests including witness interviews;
  • Provides user support for litigation software applications and other tasks relating to the management of documents and data gathered in the course of any matter;
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality regarding employee information, legal matters and Company activities;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or continuing education/certification in paralegal, HR, legal course work preferred;
  • 2-3 years' experience in a related position; or an acceptable combination of education and experience;
  • Maintains a high level of integrity, the ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates, and has excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work and perform several tasks concurrently, independently, and with ease and professionalism;
  • Knowledge of court filing procedures and deadlines;
  • Technologically savvy with the ability to learn new applications and online services;
  • Ability to maintain database, extract, query and prepare reports;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing. Preferred bilingual in Spanish and English;
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word and other Office 365 applications.
