POSITION SUMMARY:
The Produce Clerk is responsible for assisting with inventory counts, preparing product for display by trimming, washing, banding and /or wrapping produce goods. Build, rotate and maintain product displays, maintain department schematics, clean and sanitize work area, and monitor temperatures in coolers and cases. Product knowledge, unload trucks and organize inventory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensure freshness and quality through rotation of product
- Inventory merchandise on hand
- Set-up and maintain all displays
- Assist manager in maintaining pricing and signage
- Maintain neat and orderly coolers
- Use and maintenance of sprinkler wet on produce
- Cut fruits and vegetables to be sold in packages
- Maintain cleanliness of scales
- All other duties assigned within the department
- Work cross functionally with other departments
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent required
- Previous experience in produce departments/supermarkets, a plus
- Bilingual in English and Spanish

- The work environment is that typical of an office and retail store. The noise level ranges from quiet to loud.
- Ability to drive and flexible to travel to all company locations as required.
